Baron de Sigognac Bas-Armagnac VSOP Réserve
Nestled in the heart of the Bas Armagnac region and just a stone’s throw away from Eauze, the capital of Armagnac, the family-owned and run domain of Château de Bordeneuve grows and distills its own grapes.
A 42-hectare estate which can trace its roots back to medieval France, the philosophy behind the production is traditional and the methods employed, responsible: pure and natural, estate-grown and distilled Armagnacs!
Baron de Sigognac VSOP Réserve is a wonderful example of the Master-distiller’s art.
A precision hand-blending of two grape varietals ensures a perfect balance between smooth alcohol and rich fruit content: Ugni Blanc brings the fruity, floral character and Baco provides the buttery powerhouse that fuels the engine.
5 years of French oak cask-ageing in the medieval cellars at Château de Bordeneuve bring this VSOP Réserve real depth and fullness:
Yellow, amber-gold in colour and beautifully limpid, it has a complex and strong nose which reveals pleasing floral notes and a characteristic heady perfume of plums.
Perfectly balanced on the palate, it reveals suave vanilla flavours and wonderful hints of crystallised fruits, more redolent of a much older blend.
A fabulous snifter to enjoy (in moderation), as a post-prandial digestive, Baron de Sigognac VSOP Réserve also lends itself beautifully to a multitude of cocktail recipes, bringing richness and depth to all of your creations! Baron de Sigognac is distributed by Bordeneuve Châteaux & Collections, the commercial arm of Château de Bordeneuve and is widely available in specialist cellar outlets and department stores in over 45 countries around the globe.
