Oceans Tutiac
Introducing Oceans Tutiac, the latest release from Bordeaux co-operative, Les Vignerons de Tutiac, supports the initiative “Help Protect the Ocean”, with two wines launching in Sainsbury’s this month.
Each wine has a unique recyclable cork developed by Nomacorc, 69% of which is made from ‘Ocean Bound Plastic’ collected from rivers by Zero Plastic Oceans, the NGO dedicated to fighting plastic pollution. Each cork corresponds to the equivalent of one plastic bag collected (8g). The initial shipment of 200,000 bottles, destined for the UK market, is set to collect nearly two tons of plastic which would otherwise end up in the ocean.
Alongisde the cork, Tutiac has implemented a complete eco-design approach, incorporating:
- Lightweight bottles
- Capsules made from bio-based polyamines produced from sugar cane and printed with water-based ink
- Labels made from recycled paper produced from 100% recycled fibres
The introduction of this wine forms part of Tutiac’s commitment to sustainable development.
